Guess I’m not the first (again) to discover this very impressive OFF SCRIPT art on the streets of downtown Denver …apparently, acclaimed artist David Choe and his crew had some leftover paint from a commissioned project at Denver International Airport and wanted to leave their mark on the city a bit more … I couldn’t help but flip around for another drive-by, after which I parked and and went in to to the building to ask the folks at Denver Center for the Performing Arts (who granted permission to Choe) what was up.  All you have to do is Google “David Choe DIA” and you can scan the controversy.  Also check link:  http://www.terminalkings.com/.  Edutainment.

Pumped up today as I just heard that local West Denver Prep Director of Data & Tech Dan Carroll just got selected to head to San Fran as part of the latest Y Combinator draft … his team’s project you may ask?  With the working title of “Clever,” they are jumpstarting an API solution for education.  The problem and solution, as stated by Dan:  ”Developing applications for education is a data nightmare. Clever’s APIs enable developers to build applications using student data.”  Good on ya and Godspeed!
On this subject, here’s a good list of some of the latest edtech start-ups …

Whedon’s Avengers Initiative 3D joins Hugo 3D and Cave of Forgotten Dreams 3D as one of my best movie theater experiences EVER. Come to think of it, an unsung smaller Whedon project, Serenity, is also on the list with The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders, and Silverado (Kasdan evolution). Time to watch those again (bring em’ back to the bigscreen with solid post-production 3D) as well as become a repeat Avengers offender….I mean, an ambitous project like this could have really missed the mark. It not only worked, it really worked. Didn’t hurt that there was more to the movie than fancy tech and VIP’s, including a post rolling credits scene (wait til the very very very end, even after the first post credit scene) that made me want to save Manhattan and consume chicken shawarma with my superfriends in near silence.
